DUAL appoints Stephen Manning as Chief Operating Officer

13 July 2016

DUAL Group, the underwriting arm of Hyperion Insurance Group, announced today the appointment of Stephen Manning as Chief Operating Officer of DUAL International.  Manning will join DUAL on 5 September 2016.

Talbir Bains, CEO of DUAL Group, said “DUAL’s delivery on its promise of underwriting excellence and operational efficiency relies on having the right people in the right places. Having a standalone role of Chief Operating Officer is a critical part of achieving this for a business of DUAL’s size and I am delighted that we have been able to attract someone of Stephen’s calibre to fulfil it.  He will focus on ensuring that we have the right operational systems and processes in place to allow our underwriting teams to provide the highest quality service to our capacity providers, brokers and clients.”

Manning commented “The opportunity to help deliver this important part of DUAL’s vision is an exciting one and I am very much looking forward to being part of such a forward-thinking team that is so focused on creating something standout for clients and in the industry.”

Manning joins Dual after 11 years at Sompo Canopius where he has been Group Chief Operating Officer since 2012.  Prior to that, he held various roles with Canopius Group including Chief Operating Officer and Chief Risk Officer.  He began his career in insurance in 1998 with Lloyd’s, where his positions included Head of Market Supervision and Head of Risk Management.

DUAL’s delivery on its promise of underwriting excellence and operational efficiency relies on having the right people in the right places.
